So much for first time episodes.
This was my first time I attended a concert, and a massive one for that matter. The Then and Now: Massive Music Festival last May 15 marked two new things in my escapade records: a wild midnight trek with my big sister, and a whole new smash of some real live music. For the music and the Bronze tickets, all thanks to Mr. Arpee Lazaro and Ms. Josephine Bonsol!
Dissecting the details, I'll start with my funny trip with my ate to the Mall of Asia. Obviously, we still haven't got the chattel of our dream Everest car (or any registered car for that matter) to travel anywhere we want, so we deliberately commuted from Lagro to MOA.
At 5pm, we left the house and took a jeepney to MRT. Apparently, it almost took an hour for us to reach the train station, and to make things worse, we even got ourselves all tied up in the footbridges stretching in every direction, and initially ended up in the MRT exit stairs (really stupid and pathetic, I know).
And so after we wasted about 15 minutes of retracing our steps, at 6:25pm we were in the front section of the MRT laughing at ourselves for our shameful recurring Alzheimer's disease.
At the Taft station, we almost got lost the second time after we innocently followed the pushing mob of people hurrying for the exit stairs leading to the terminal of SM Fairview jeepneys and buses (yep, so much for first times, with my ate that is). After finally finding a MOA cab, we took our sighs of relief as we realized one more direction problem: The Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
At 7:10pm, we were like Harry Potter panicking our way to the MOA labyrinth, until we asked a dull security guard where the concert ground is. We still rotated 180 degrees and finally, at 7:25pm, we were rejuvenating our physically perplexed bodies with a tasty Fruit Magic mango drink and a medium cone of crunchy Fish and Co. chips.
And finally, my big sister and I were relaxing in the Bronze section of the concert grounds waiting for the music festival to start. Apparently, it already started at around 8:45pm instead of our expected 7:30 and the actual time of 8pm.
But hey, I could still say the live music sensation of the foreign artists made it all worthwhile. The concert started with a front act of a local artist who sang about 5 songs, which made most people a little bit irritated. And finally, the MYX VJ's Janine and her guy partner (forgot the name, sorry) introduced the V Factory--the first of the nine foreign artists who made the music festival in the country the biggest concert so far.
The guys said they still came all the way from Los Angeles just to perform in the Philippines, and honestly, they were so nice to look at in personal. They sang four of their recent hit songs: Get up and Dance, Fade, These are the Days, and Lovestruck. They were so amazing especially in dancing and singing at the same time.
Honestly, we haven't finished the whole concert because: 1) we are only 16 and 21 years old; 2) we had a curfew, and so does the MRT. We had to reach the MRT in time before it took its final trip at 10:30pm. And because I have to make up for you guys, I'll just post below second-handed videos (via Youtube of course) of the other artists. I strongly believe the SWV, Diana King, Frankie J., All-4-One, PM Dawn, Baby Bash, TQ and our idol Jojo made everyone in the concert truly satisfied with their songs (and I hadn't just felt it 100%, huhu).
