"Don't be afraid to try something new."
Her passion for music, her love for reinvention and her ardent belief for OPM music--these truly justify the million fans who adore and admire Pop Rock Princess Yeng Constantino. Yeng launched her fifth music record with media and bloggers entitled "Metamorphosis" produced under Star Records, which perfectly fits her newest transformation as a singer-songwriter in the OPM industry.
The youth can truly relate to the album with Yeng's carrier single "B.A.B.A.Y" that also defines the talented artist's transformation from being a Pinoy Dream Academy grandchampion to a renowned OPM singer-songwriter who has already established her pop-rock niche in the industry. Yeng shared the story behind B.A.B.A.Y which deviates from its overt sad lyrics matched with a lively rhythym and a light and colorful music video, that roots from her personal experience with a good friend who in time started to fall in love with her and suddenly disappeared without a trace because he decided to stay away to preserve their friendship. The album also includes her original tracks "Hahanapin Kita", "Josephine", "Messiah", "Pasensya Na", "Di Pa Huli", "Teleserye", "Pag-ibig" and "Sandata".
I couldn't help but watch in awe as the 24-year-old artist, who from being a "disciple" of his good mentor Raymond Marasigan to being a teacher of music herself to young aspiring singers shared to bloggers her passion and excitement for her self-composed album that took her two years to make, and her unending love for her fans to which the album was dearly dedicated to. I was also amazed and inspired at how she wants to uplift the status of OPM music internationally and believes that our use of the Filipino language would be the key factor for us to promote our country in such industries.
I also had the chance to ask her what message she could give to the youth and all her young fans and said that they should always try something new and continue to learn from their experiences, good or bad to become a better person. A "disciple" of God herself, she also advised the youth to always offer to Him whatever accomplishments they have made and to always believe in Him. It was really inspiring when she shared how she felt empty after she has reached her "nirvana" as a singer because she has forgotten the simplest things in life that truly make her happy, and realized that she wants to offer all her success to God and her fans.
As part of the youth I can truly say that Yeng is an inspiration and a model for us to pursue our dreams, to always believe in them, to always love our parents and to always look back to our humble beginnings once we reach success.
